Community Involvement

GWI is committed to helping build strong and vibrant communities, improving quality of life, and making a positive difference where we live and work. Over the years we've committed to improving education, strengthening neighborhoods, and encouraging volunteer service. Through a shared commitment with our community partners, we can achieve uncommon things - together.

The following are organizations that GWI works with:

The Portland Art Museum
The mission of the Portland Art Museum is to serve the public by providing access to art of enduring quality, by educating a diverse audience about art and by collecting and preserving a wide range of art for the enrichment of present and future generations.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Founded in 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest and largest youth mentoring association in America. Big Brothers Big Sisters serve over 225,000 young people ages 5 through 18, in 5,000 communities through a network of 470 agencies.
Katrina Pet Convoy
Katrina Pet Convoy is not a rescue or shelter. The KPC simply coordinates the transport of animals through a network of volunteers from a kill shelter to a no-kill shelter; from a one rescue organization to another (where the animal(s) will be fostered until a forever home can be found, or from a rescue organization to an animal's new forever home).

If you are a nonprofit agency focused on the needs of the greater Portland metropolitan area (Oregon & Washington), please contact GWI for more information on ways in which we may be able to help your agency.
